Rob Beeren is one of the co-founders of Diligence, and has been a successful intermediary right from the start. He has meanwhile successfully supervised nearly one hundred acquisitions, large and small, in a wide range of sectors both in the Netherlands and abroad.
Born in 1955, Beeren currently resides in the Dutch town of Overveen. His education and background have provided him with excellent acquisition skills which always focus on the human aspect as such. Beeren has wide interests, a large network, enjoys writing articles about his acquisition activities, and has a large number of publications on this topic to his name.
He completed his studies as a business economist/business manager at the University of Amsterdam in 1978 and qualified as a chartered accountant in 1984. Beeren worked for the Arthur Andersen & Co. international partnership for seven years, of which one year in Denmark and six in the Netherlands. While there, he acquired a great deal of experience with a very diverse range of clients in different sectors. In 1985, he opted for a management position in the business community and has since held positions in different capacities with subsidiaries of VNU, ITT, KPN and Philips in the established and new media sectors, including pay-tv, cable text, the Internet etcetera. Both in his accountancy and business practice, he is frequently involved in M&A matters, a subject that has always had his special attention.
In 1996, after side-tracking to an American pharmaceutical company in the Netherlands for over a year, he decided – in his own words – ‘to start focusing on something really nice’: namely, developing and expanding Diligence. He takes great pleasure in his work every day and, in December 2015, was elected ‘M&A advisor of the year 2015’ by his colleagues in the market.
